Product and candidate applications

Gardenia yellow is a natural yellow color made from gardenia fruit, evaluated for beverages, confectionery, bakery, noodle products and seasonings. These are application-screening directions; permission for the specific food and destination market requires separate review.

Liquid and powder handling

  • Liquid: mix thoroughly, then add slowly through a validated sequence. Check uniformity, compatibility and storage appearance.
  • Powder: follow the product instructions for full dissolution or dispersion before adding. Inspect particles, specks, sediment and post-heating color.
  • Use a controlled water-phase preparation and avoid local concentrated contact with acid, salts or other ingredients. Record order, pH, temperature and filtration.

Record the whole process

Heating temperature, holding and cooling speed form one heat history. Package light transmission, oxygen and storage duration can also change appearance. Water ions, protein, hydrocolloids and the base’s own color need attention. Strong heat, prolonged light or oxygen exposure warrants accelerated and actual shelf observation.

Tea and beverage projects should track pH, water and sediment. Confectionery and gels should fix sugar/acid, hydrocolloid, heating and cooling conditions. Bakery and noodles need before-cooking, after-cooking and storage comparisons. For seasonings, include salt, oil, spices and process-generated color.

Interpret defects and compare yellows

Uneven color, particles after preparation, heat-related paling or shade shift, stored haze, sediment and wall deposits are distinct observations. Clear drinks require especially consistent dissolution, water and filtration records.

Against beta-carotene, compare yellow versus orange-yellow, continuous phase, clarity and available product form. Against curcumin, include water-phase entry, aroma, base color, light and compatibility. Match target color depth in the real base, not powder weight.

Review the specification and market

GB 2760 is a Chinese standard. It does not establish overseas use permissions or a standard addition amount. Supply the actual specification, food category, destination, pH, heat, packaging and reference shade for review.
